Ben Lomond to Gentile Street

Project overview

Rocky Mountain Power plans to build a project in western Weber and Davis counties, Utah, consisting of a new 20 mile transmission line that will be connected to existing lines in Layton City near Gentile Street, then run north to 700 North and 6700 West in unincorporated Weber County.  We also plan to construct five new substations along the proposed route that will deliver electricity and boost reliability in western Davis and Weber counties.  These improvements are needed in order to meet growing electricity use in these areas. Our system serving the two counties will reach full capacity in 2010.

The new transmission line and substations being planned will add necessary capacity, improving the reliability of your electric service and supporting the area’s economic growth. Everyone in the community benefits.

Rocky Mountain Power understands how important it is to develop this project in cooperation with area communities and residents, and to coordinate with the planning efforts of local, state and federal agencies. We're working to minimize impacts to the community and the environment from project development, construction and maintenance.
